For In-Person Classes - Communicable disease safety

  • We recommend masks, especially in main/common areas.
  • Facilitators will not mask to maximize voice projection. However, they will be distanced from the first row.
    • As per the BC CDC and HealthLink:
      • If you feel sick, stay home.
        • Resting at home can help you recover and minimize transmission to others.
        • The self-assessment tool can help.
    • Practice good hygiene etiquette - wash your hands often, cough and sneeze into your elbow, etc.

For All Classes - Psychological safety

    • Bullying, discrimination and harassment will not be tolerated. Refer to the BCFED Statement.
    • Expectation of confidentiality and privacy. Share the class content and skills outside of class. Do not share other participant names, workplaces or stories.
    • Everyone participates and no one dominates. Make room for the whole class to contribute.
    • Focus on the class - avoid texting and if you need to, take calls outside the classroom.
    • Parking Lot - can park off-topic ideas, questions, or comments for a later time.
    • Remain respectful. Defer judgement.
    • Be open to everyone's ideas and experiences.
    • Make ideas tangible.
