Become a Presenter

The B.C. Federation of Labour and the BCFED Health & Safety Centre are seeking young union workers (18-30 years) to present workshops in high schools about workplace health and safety and labour education.

The program trains young workers to present an interactive workshop in BC's high schools on occupational health and safety.

During the past ten years, the program's young workers have spoken to more than 200,000 high school students in communities across the province.

The goal of this program is to educate young workers and students about their rights in the workplace.

The BCFL and the Centre will provide the following:

  • Training in basic occupational health and safety;
  • A two-day workshop on training in presentation skills, as well as tools to effectively deliver information to high school students; and
  • Costs to cover travel, lost wages, accommodation and per diem.

We seek to identify young workers who are interested in presenting these workshops. Our goal is to have a diverse group of presenters from across the province.
