Become a Facilitator

The B.C. Federation of Labour and the BCFED Health &Safety Centre are seeking young union workers (18-30 years) to facilitate workshops in high schools about workplace health and safety and labour education.

The Program trains young workers to facilitate an interactive workshop in BC's high schools on Occupational Health and Safety.

Over the past ten years, the Program's young workers have spoken to over 200,000 high school students in communities across the province.

The goal of this Program is to educate young workers and students about their rights in the workplace.

We are currently seeking to identify young workers who are interested in facilitating these workshops. Our goal is to have a diverse group of facilitators from across the province.

The BCFL and the Centre will provide the following:

  • Training in Basic Occupational Health and Safety;
  • A two-day workshop on training in facilitation skills, as well as tools to effectively deliver information to high school students. We are planning for this training to occur in September 2015; and
  • Costs to cover travel, lost wages, accommodation and per diem.

The BCFL will send all applicationsto unions for authorization.

The attached applications can be sent to:
